Celebration - The best kept secret in the area
Celebration was created by a real estate division of The Walt Disney Company and is a small town/village that was built by Disney 15 years ago. It's a real, live town with shops, restaurants, bars, banks and a post office. It might not sound like it's worth a visit but it's one of the best kept secrets of the area.
This charming place is built around a beautiful lake surrounded by trees. There is something of a Caribbean flavor to the buildings with many painted in bright colours and in the main street (Market Street) the buildings have wide overhangs, shutters, and verandas. It's just off the 192 or interstate 4 (it's well signposted) so it's very easy to get to.
Tip 1 Rocking Chairs around the Lake
There are a number of rocking chairs that sit on a deck facing the lake. These are completely free and you can spend a good half an hour or so, sitting in the sun, or under one of the umbrellas, taking in the beautiful surroundings. This is a particularly good spot for Grandparents to rest whilst other members of the family explore the shops!.

Tip 2 The Celebration Fountains
To the left hand side of the lake there is a circle of dancing fountains which are great for the kids to play in. Set around the circle are benches for the adults to watch and there is also a basic shower for the kids to rinse off afterwards. Our children started playing in these fountain when they were small (probably about 2 years old) and have only just decided they are too old for them (at 14!). So when you visit Celebration, take the kids' swimming costumes and they will have a ball!
Tip 3 Sunday Farmers Market
On Sunday's between 10.00am and about 3.00pm a Farmers Market sets up in the aptly named Market Street. In addition to the usual fruit and veg, this market sells memorabilia, clothes, ornaments, and a whole host of other things. It's well worth a wander around.

Tip 4 Celebration walks
You can stroll around the lake or take one of the many dedicated trails and paths through the town. There's some great flora and fauna to see - if you're into flowers and trees! - and we've seen all sorts of birds, turtles, and of course, an aligator or two. Apart from the nature views, you can also see some of the amazing houses that Celebration is famous for. A short walk from the centre is East Lawn Drive whichhas some amazing houses along it - it's worth a trip on it's own
